Free practice: Aston on wet, Corvette on dry

It was a double-faced Friday of free practice today at Silverstone, as the first session took place under a strong storm in the morning and the afternoon session was dominated by warm and humid weather.

In the wet session 1, the new-coming TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage of Darren Turner and Jody Fanin took advantage of British weather to post the best time ahead of the Villorba Ferrari of Montermini-Schirò, with Federico Leo (who replaces Michele Rugolo at AF in this round) and Álvaro Barba (Ombra Racing) being the fastest cars in GTS.

In the dry session 2, the #4 Corvette of V8 Racing, now driven by Maxime Soulet and Francesco Pastorelli, was quickest (2.03.185) ahead of the GT3 car of the Dutch squad, with Keilwitz-Retera. The TF Aston was third ahead of Barba-Sicart (Ombra Ferrari) and the Autorlando Porsche of Beretta-Camathias.

The only incident to report was an off-track in the morning by the SMP Racing Ferrari of Joan Vinyes, who hit the barriers backwards, but the car was repaired for the afternoon. The Andorran driver is racing alongside Aicart, replacing Vyacheslav Maleev, taken by professional commitments.
