The new 911 GT3 RSR, Porsche’s weapon in SuperGT for 2012, revealed

Porsche has revealed the new 911 GT3 RSR, its top customer racing car, which has undergone extensive modifications for the 2012 season. The new RSR is wider by 48 mm in the rear, has front wheels with a wider diameter and is equipped with new front and rear panels, with new wheel arches and new aerodynamic air intakes. The new 911 GT3 RSR is equipped with the well-known 6-cylinder boxer engine generating 460 hp (in the standard LM GTE ACO-homologated version) and a sequential 6-speed gearbox operated by paddle shifts.

As stated by Porsche Motorsport, the new 911 GT3 RSR is a perfect fit for racing in a number of endurance series and in the International GT Open (in the Super GT category). Teams such as Autorlando Sport and Drivex, who are traditional Stuttgart customers, have already ordered the new car and other Porsche teams are expected to join the GT Open next year.
